“Best Text Promotion” and Blackberry Storm Winners Emerged from Digicel

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – May 13th, 2009: On May 1st, 2009 Digicel officially launched the extraordinary and highly anticipated Blackberry Storm smartphone to the Turks and Caicos market.

Marketing Executive, Turkesa Rolle stated that; “Our Blackberry Storms actually arrived and were available to the market from Thursday April 30th, but we chose to launch the Storm in the fashion it deserved, along with a Live remote.” One Blackberry Storm handset was ‘up for grabs’ and Marsha Blanche won it after telling Digicel and the listening radio public  why Digicel should give her the Blackberry Storm smartphone. The winner for the Best Text” promotion was also drawn at the Launch for the Blackberry Storm.

Through Digicel’s partnership with 88 JAMZ, one lucky Digicel customer won a trip to the annual and very popular “Best of the Best” concert in Miami Florida. Customers were encouraged to tune into 88 JAMZ, listen for the keyword each week, and text the keywords to “5050” from their Digicel handsets. The “Best Text” promotion ran from April 1st to May 1st, 2009. Subscribers texting in the keywords each week were eligible to win the prize. Crissy Munnings emerged victorious from this promotion and displayed a great deal of excitement when she learnt that she had won.

Ms. Munnings expressed thanks to Digicel and 88 Jamz to be afforded the opportunity to attend the “Best of the Best concert.

The all-expense paid trip includes round-trip tickets for two, hotel accommodations, all access passes, and transportation. According to Turkesa, the promotion received great participation, and stated that they are always very excited about having their customers enjoy fun and meaningful benefits from Digicel.
