DIGICEL JACKPOT WINNERS DRAWN LIVE
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, - Wednesday, December 24, 2009: Digicel’s Jingle Bells Jackpot cracked at $50,000. The draw to climax the promotion was held live on WIV channel 4 and five lucky individuals walked away with $5000 each and five deserving charities also walked away with $5000 each.
Digicel Head of Marketing, Ava-Dayne Kerr explained, “The season of Christmas is about sharing, so we are happy that we could bring some cheer to at least five persons and assist our wider community by donating to five charities at the same time. It’s a promotion that was well worth while and the joy and excitement shared by the winners makes it all the more satisfying. We are glad that we could come through for our customers and community at this time of the year.”
The Five Individual Winners were:

· Bernadin Patric
· Ana Dilia Cueto
· Alberto Arong
The Jingle Bells Jackpot Promotion was launched on November 16 and was based around the concept of recharge or ‘top up’ as it is more commonly known. Digicel Prepaid customers were entered to WIN Big Money just in time for Christmas every time they topped up $10 or more.
The wider community was given the opportunity to vote for their favorite charity to walk away with a portion of the Jackpot. At the end of the voting, over 40,000 votes came in for local charities. The top selected charities were:
· Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Association (CAPAA)
· The Provo Children’s Home
· The Edward Gartland Youth Centre
· The TCI Kidney Foundation
Maranatha High School topped off the five organizations to walk away with a portion of the Jackpot, having been adopted by Digicel since May of 2009. As Digicel CEO E. Jay Saunders explained, “Digicel has pledged to assist with the building of a state of the art Science and Mathematics Lab for the School.”
Also noteworthy is the fact that the five individual winners although residing in the TCI are originally from Five different countries:
- Nigeria
- Haiti
- Dominican Republic
- The Philippines
- Jamaica
This emphasizes the tremendous diversity of the TCI and also underlines the reliance placed on Digicel to bring People and Families together all across the world.
