May 18th 2010 - SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS GET SPECIAL TREAT AT DIGICELProvidenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, - Tuesday 18th May 2010: The special needs class of the Ianthe Pratt Primary School made a visit to the Digicel Flagship Store at Graceway House Providenciales on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 as part of their course on ‘communication’.
The Field trip allowed students to learn about the services provided by Digicel as a Telecommunications company and the ways in which Digicel serves the community at large. The interactive session involved the group of thirteen youngsters not only learning but sharing what they knew about Digicel. One of the areas discussed was Sponsorship with the focus being on Digicel’s most recent and largest Sponsorship Initiative – the FIFA World Cup 2010 to be held in South Africa.
Digicel is the Regional Broadcast Sponsor of this event which aside from the Olympics brings more countries and cultures together in one place. As part of FIFA fever, one lucky Digicel customer from the TCI will join football fans in South Africa to witness the World Cup Finals Live. With so much emphasis being placed on FIFA lately, the visiting students from Ianthe Pratt were quizzed on just how much they knew about FIFA.
Head of Marketing, Ava-Dayne Kerr, commented on the visit saying, “It was a pleasure having the students visit our store. Their joyful spirit certainly brought a smile to all our faces. Despite the challenges they face day to day, the positive outlook they have should be an example to all of us. I hope that they walked away from here, knowing that Digicel Cares about them.”
As a parting gift, each student and teacher walked away with a FIFA football pack, courtesy of Digicel.
