  1. What is the Student Plan?

·         The Blackberry Student Plan offer is a prepaid plan just for students,  whereby students pay US$25 per month and get 100 minutes Digi to Digi local, FREE Nights and Weekends and unlimited Data and 300 local Cross-Net text SMS.

  1. What was the launch date of the Student Plan?

·         The Student Plan Launched on September 02, 2011.

·         Customers may activate the plan any time on or after September 02, 2011.

 

  1. Are all customers eligible for the Student Plan?

·         No. All customers are NOT eligible for the student plan. Only Students between the ages of 12-22 years old are eligible for the plan.

 

  1. Are postpaid customers eligible for the student plan?

·         No. Postpaid customers are NOT eligible for the student plan.

 

  1. How do I sign up for the student plan?

·         In order to first register for the plan, students have to visit a Digicel store. If the student has an existing prepaid number, the Digicel agent can change the service class of the number to accommodate the student plan.

·         New customers will receive a new student plan SIM card when they register for the student plan.

·         Once registered, the student can renew the plan monthly by dialing *122# from their handsets.

 

  1. Which date of the month do I need to reactivate the plan?

·         The service time period ends 30 days after the plan have been activated.  Students can renew the plan after that time by dialing *122# from their handsets.

  

  1. Do I need to have Identification when signing up for the plan?

Yes. All students signing up for the student plan must have valid identification indicating the age of the student.

 

  1. Do I need to be accompanied by an adult when signing up for the Student Plan?

Yes. Student between the ages of 12-17 years olds must be accompanied by an adult when signing up for the student plan. Students between the ages of 18-22 years old can sign up for the plan on their own.

 

  1. What is the difference between the Blackberry SOCIAL Service and the Blackberry STUDENT PLAN?

·      The Blackberry Student Plan offers customers unlimited data and allows customers the option of sending emails via their POP3 emails (yahoo, Gmail, msn etc) and have the emails forwarded to their Blackberry, as well as Blackberry Social applications, Blackberry Instant Messaging services and Internet Browsing. Additionally, customers get 100 minutes Digi to Digi local, FREE Nights and Weekends and 300 local Cross-Net text SMS.

·     Blackberry SOCIAL doesn’t offer email service and Internet Browsing.

·     What Blackberry SOCIAL does offer is the option for customers being connected to their social Networks, this includes Facebook and MySpace, Twitter etc. and also IM (instant messaging) applications e.g. MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk.

 

11.  What does a customer need in order to access the Student Plan?

·      Customer should be a Digicel Prepaid subscriber

·      A GSM Blackberry device

·      Required credit to activate the service

·        Photo ID 

 

12.  Will the customer be able to browse Websites with the Student Plan?

·      Yes. Unlimited data allows customers to browse the web.

 

13.  Will customers be charged for using Blackberry data services while roaming?

·         Yes.  Data charges will be applied at the prevailing roaming data rate

 

14.  Will I be charged for downloading Facebook and other social applications?

·   No.

· Customers will be able to download and use the Social applications at no additional cost.
