Mobile Email
Mobile Email is a service that allows all Digicel users to send and receive emails FROM their mobile phones. It's as easy as using digiTEXT and means that you can now communicate with anyone - no matter where in the world they are. And, the cost to send your Mobile Email is the same as a normal digiTEXT. Receipt of Mobile Email messages is free of charge.

All handsets with SMS (text messaging) functionality can send and receive emails. Please see the info attached as it explains how to do this.

Get Mobile Email on your phone:
Initial set up is quick and easy and allows you to receive and send emails to anyone in the world.

Once an email message is sent to your phone via your mobile address, e.g. 6411234@digitexttci.com, you will receive the message as you would a digiTEXT.

How Do I receive E-mails on my Digicel Mobile?
  • When persons are sending you an e-mail from a PC to your mobile, the person must: Send the message to your mobile email address: i.e. If your mobile number is 6411234, the person must send the message to: 6411234@digitexttci.com
  • Type the subject in the subject area of the e-mail
  • Type the message in the message area
  • Send the message. Once an e-mail is sent to you at your digitexttci address, you will receive a message notification.
  • You can then access the e-mail in exactly the same manner that you access a digiTEXT message.
  • When you open the e-mail message, you will see the e-mail address of the person that sent you the e-mail at the top of the screen followed by the message.
How do I send an e-mail from my Digicel Mobile for the first time?
  • Go to the menu option to write a message.
  • The first line of the message must be the e-mail address of the person you are writing to.
  • Leave a space after the email address and then type your e-mail.
    e.g. mailto:mary.burke@jamaica.com Hi Mary, how are you?
  • Once you have finished typing the message, press SEND.
  • Send message to 555.
  • The message is now forwarded to the Messaging Centre and from there the message will be delivered to the addressee.
  • You will know it has reached the Messaging Centre, when you get the confirmation, "Message Sent".
  • After you have sent the message, you can now store the e-mail address (after deleting the message you just sent) in your phone book for easy use next time. Please note that when sending e-mail messages, the length can be no more than 160 characters. This includes both the e-mail address and blank spaces.
How do I store e-mail addresses in my handset?
  • Go to the menu option to write a message
  • Type in the e-mail address
  • Press "save message"
  • The message is now stored in your message outbox.
  • Please note that the e-mail address is stored on your SIM Card - not on the handset.
  • So if you change handsets, your e-mail addresses go wherever your SIM Card goes.
How do I send an e-mail from my Digicel Mobile using an e-mail address that I have stored before?
  • To access the stored e-mail address, go to your outbox
  • Press Edit
  • Type your new message after the e-mail address e.g. mary.burke@jamaica.com Hello
  • Press SEND
  • Send to 555

Can I reply to an e-mail message?
  • Open the message that you want to reply to
  • Erase the message that was sent to you, erase the message only. Make sure to leave the e-mail address of the person that sent the message.
  • For example, if the e-mail message is: mailto:mary.burke@jamaica.com Hi, I hope you are fine.
  • Erase: Hi, I hope you are fine.
  • Your message should then look like this: mailto:mary.burke@jamaica.com
  • Leave a space and now you can type your response.
  • Once you have finished typing the message, press SEND
  • Send message to 555.
